Hobson’s Conduit, also known as Hobson’s Brook, was established in 1610 to maintain good quality water supply into Cambridge. Hobson’s Conduit Trust is a registered charity, dedicated to preserving this historic relic. It performs regular monitoring for water quality and biodiversity. The brook is important as a ‘green corridor’ in preserving wildlife in the City of Cambridge. Hobson's Brook is a chalk stream with a spring head at Nine Wells Nature Reserve.
